You can reset your password if you forget it, you get locked out of your account, the password expires, or an Administrator requests a reset.
- Contains at least eight characters
- Contains at most 72 characters
- Includes at least one lowercase letter, uppercase letter, number, and symbol
- Does not include your first or last name
- Does not repeat any of your last five passwords
Reset a Forgotten Password
- From the Veracode Platform login page, click .
- Enter your Veracode username, which is usually an email address.
- Click Reset via Email.
- Click Continue. Veracode sends you an email in response to your reset request.
- In the email from Veracode, click Reset Password. Clicking this
button opens your browser to your Veracode Platform security
question.Note: The Reset Password link expires one hour after you request the reset.
- Answer your security question.
- Click Reset Password.
- Enter your new password in the New password and Repeat password fields.
- Click Reset Password.
Reset a Password When Your Account is Locked
To protect your account from brute-force attacks, Veracode automatically locks your account for 30 minutes after 5 failed attempts to enter a correct password. Veracode sends an email informing you that your account is locked.
If you need to reset your password and log in before Veracode automatically unlocks your account:
- In the email from Veracode informing you of the locked account, click Unlock Account. Clicking this button opens your browser to the Unlock Account page.
- Enter your username or email address.
- Click Send Email.
- In the email from Veracode about your account unlock request, click Unlock
Account. Note: The Unlock Account button is valid for one hour.
- Answer your security question.
- Click Unlock Account.
- Click Back to Sign In.
- If you do not know your password, follow the instructions for resetting a forgotten password.
Reset an Expiring Password
You must change your password every 90 days. If your password is expiring soon, you receive a notification in the Veracode Platform informing you when it will expire.
- In the Veracode Platform, go to the user account menu and select Your Account.
- In the Security section, click Change Password.
- Enter your current password.
- Enter and confirm your new password.
- Click Save Changes.
After you save, the Veracode Platform displays a message confirming you successfully updated your password.
Reset a Password After an Administrator Request
If you have the Administrator role, you can request other users in your organization reset their passwords.
- In the email from Veracode notifying your of the reset request, click Reset
Password. Note: The Reset Password button is valid for one hour.
- Enter the answer to your security question.
- Click Reset Password.
- Enter and repeat your new password.
- Click Reset Password.
- If your account requires multifactor authentication, follow the onscreen instructions setting up and using your authentication method.
