Business units

Business units represent a department or group in your organization. You can assign business units to teams, for managing team assignments, or application profiles, for organizing applications and other assets you need to secure. Business units also help you manage reports of security findings.

Administrators can manage business units in the Veracode Platform and with the Identity API.

Prerequisites​

  • To manage business units, you must have a user account with the Administrator role.
  • To assign a team to a business unit, ensure the team isn't already assigned to a business unit, or you can't assign it.

Create a business unit​

Create a business unit that contains one or more teams.

To complete this task:

  1. Sign in to the Veracode Platform.
  2. From the gear icon , select Admin. The Administration page opens.
  3. Select Business Units.
  4. Select Add New Business Unit.
  5. Enter a business unit name.
  6. Select the teams you want to assign to the business unit. If a team is already assigned to a business unit, you can't select it.
  7. Select Add.
  8. Select Apply. A success message confirms that you created the business unit.

Edit a business unit​

You can edit the name of the business unit or update the list of teams assigned to the business unit.

note

You can't assign teams that are already assigned to a business unit.

To complete this task:

  1. Sign in to the Veracode Platform.
  2. From the gear icon , select Admin. The Administration page opens.
  3. Select the Business Units tab.
  4. For the business unit you want to edit, select Actions > Edit Business Unit.
  5. Add or remove teams from the Assigned To This Business Unit list or edit the business unit name. If a team is already assigned to a business unit, you can't select it.
  6. Select Apply. A success message confirms that you edited the business unit.

Delete a business unit​

You can delete any business unit from your organization.

To complete this task:

  1. Sign in to the Veracode Platform.
  2. From the gear icon , select Admin. The Administration page opens.
  3. Select Business Units.
  4. Select the Actions menu for the business unit you want to delete and, then, select Delete Business Unit.
  5. Select OK. A success message confirms that you deleted the business unit.
